BREAK TO BROKEN formed in 2020 during the height of the pandemic lockdowns, Australian musician Clinton Maher teamed up with New Jersey punk veterans Eli Nowak and Justin Rauschkolb to create a virtual, borderless band. The trio built their sound on the foundation of collaboration, punk values, and a love for bands like Fugazi and the Dischord Records DIY ethic. They continue to push the boundaries of what a band can be—connected by creativity rather than geography, and united by a commitment to authenticity over convention.
COLLABORATIONS
BREAK TO BROKEN's recent releases feature collaborations with friends from the US and AUS punk scenes. The band’s 2025 EP, No Care + 2, features a special guest appearance by legendary bassist Mike Watt (Minutemen, FIREHOSE, The Stooges) on the title track. This follows their collaboration with Tim Steward, frontman of the iconic Australian band Screamfeeder, who provided guest vocals for the single "White & Gray".
Industry Recognition & Media Presence
After earning consistent airplay on the Sirius XM channel Faction Punk, the trio was featured on the SXM show "Six Strings of Punk," serving as guest DJs. They have been featured in podcast interviews and highlighted across notable outlets such as The Watt from Pedro Show, Signal Chords, End on End, and France’s Broke the Casbah. Beyond the airwaves, the band's unique story is documented in the book A Fire Still Burns: Music Inspired by the Post-punk Message.
